Fluffy, Delicious Pancakes Recipe from Grandma's Book
Pancakes are a beloved breakfast staple, but they can be tricky to perfect. However, with this tried-and-true recipe from my grandma's recipe book, you'll be able to make pancakes that are thick, fluffy, and utterly delicious. The best part? You probably already have all of the ingredients in your kitchen.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract (if using).
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in tough pancakes.
Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat. If you're not sure if the pan is hot enough, you can test it by sprinkling a drop of water on the surface. If it sizzles, it's ready.
Use a ladle to pour the batter onto the pan or griddle. You can make the pancakes as big or small as you like, but be sure to leave enough space between them for flipping.
Cook the pancakes for 2-3 minutes on one side, or until bubbles start to form on the surface.
Carefully flip the pancakes and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes on the other side, or until golden brown.
Repeat until all the batter is used up.
Enjoy your pancakes with your favorite toppings! Try butter and maple syrup, fresh berries, or whipped cream for a classic treat.
With this recipe, you can enjoy pancakes that are every bit as delicious as the ones your grandma used to make. The key is to not overmix the batter and cook the pancakes on a moderate heat. This recipe is easy and can be made by any one who is just starting to learn to cook. And because it's made with simple, everyday ingredients, you can enjoy it anytime the craving strikes. So give this recipe a try, and see for yourself just how easy it is to make perfect pancakes at home.
Note: If you want to make them fluffy you can use half a cup of club soda that will make the pancakes airy and fluffy as well.
